A 2-hour trial for PS5 theme park management sim Park Beyond has popped up on the PlayStation Store, which PS Plus Premium subscribers can download right now. It might just scratch that particular carnival tycoon itch we all get from time to time; the urge to fleece ordinary people out of their hard-earned dollars with overpriced hot dogs and exhilerating rides of dubious maintenance.
Park Beyond looks like the spiritual successor to Theme Park we've been waiting for, and so you'd best believe we'll be looking into the creation of some physics-defying death traps. There are few things more satisfying than watching graphs populate in real-time, and thankfully Park Beyond looks like it allows for as much bean-counting and nitty-gritty management as it does creativity on the attraction front.

For console it's all about the UI. Planet Coaster had a lot of potential but the console UI was pretty hard to deal with and I moved on fast. If this can make the UI workable it looks great!
A demo behind a paywall , wow things are very money grabbing
Brilliant news as I wanted to try this out - although, call me ungrateful but I do think 2 hours is a little on the short side to demo a sim game though..
Me and the Mrs share accounts, but for some reason it won’t allow her to play the timed trials of games but will let her play anything else from my account. Does anyone know a way around this

Tried this on the weekend luckily as was tempted to buy it, honestly couldnt get passed the tutorial for building the coaster before turning it off, shame as this looked promising, but glad i got to try it first and saved some money.
Saw the words 'drive' and 'Bandai Namco' and immediately thought it was a new Ridge Racer.
Was initially very tempted to get this game as I struggled with the UI with Planet Coaster on PS5 (RCT3 on Switch has a better UI!), which was a huge shame as I've grown up on Theme Park World, RCT1-3

The added preorder bonus at The Game Collection with 2for1 tickets to Thorpe Park was somewhat enticing. But I still held off.
Was thinking of trying out this demo when I spotted it on Saturday, but seen some vids stating that the base game only has 25 rides and the rest seem to be locked behind a season pass.
Plus there's issues such a performance taking quite a hit when the park gets busy and guests just always unhappy and asking for more rides, even if you have them all.
Might just try and overcome the hurdle of Planet Coaster's UI.

As a non-subscriber I do find it a bit 'sucky' that certain things, like demos, are locked behind a paywall.
Oh well, it is what it is.
I gave up on the demo and deleted it. Seemed very cumbersome and jumbled I couldn’t get anywhere but for some it’s prob great

I actually thought is was going to be a demo of the new Test Drive game! Then I read the sub-header...lol
@PixelDragon it wouldn't be so bad if Xbox was doing it too but they aren't ,you can get the demo on Xbox from free ,no need to pay anything ,surely ps ain't that hard up for money

I don't sub to Xbox either, but yeah that is pretty dumb. I won't lie, even though I used to have subs I've never been a huge fan of these subscription based models, (including movies, TV and music). But it isn't going anywhere so you can either engage or not. I now choose the latter.
Roller Coaster Tycoon seems great bit it doesn’t explain how to do things! Can i f**k connect a high rollercoaster track to a low bit!!
I don't understand how PlayStation thinks demos should be available if you pay for a subscription. Why has there been no major journalist/gaming community outcry over this?
Anyway, I wish I could play these types of games on console but I did The Sims 4 and the controls were awful. Planet Coaster too. Are any of these games pleasant to use a controller with??
