Darn................... the list is surprisingly not a list

Almost as good as the "full list of all games on PS Classic Mini" headline and tweet of the headline.

This one may be a short list but at least it's accurate, that PS Mini title was brutal trolling.

Cross-console play? Who asked for this????

2022 EDIT: This was a sarcastic comment referencing the huge clamour at the time for Sony to introduce cross-play, which has aged poorly, making it even less funny now than it was then. Just wanted to say this, so that I stop getting replies to it, anyway that's all I wanted to say okay bye

Off the top of my head I want RDR2, all the recent COD games, Fifa, and No Man's Sky to support cross platform play.

@Dange RDR2 and BO4 is certain to support this, they are the one of the games that will greatly benefit crossplay

I don't care about Fortnite, but for some games this is absolutely huge and a big deal. Also I'm looking forward to hearing how developers handle the "I have cosmetics on both ps4 and pc" issue.

Is this only games that are cross play between all 3 console platforms? If thats the case its going to remain a very tiny list, mostly because the Switch is not likely to get most of the "modern AAA" titles that the Xbox One and PS4 are going to get, so the opportunity for cross play between all 3 is going to be very limited.

Or is it a list of any PS4 game that has cross play with at least one other console? I think defining exactly what this list is, is important.

not gonna happen with the likes of destiny 2. and i can't imagine it'll happen with games which require playstation owners to agree to sign up to xbox live accounts. with fortnite, they may be satsified that all platforms are tied into an epic games account, and no info is shared directly.

Can we just sit back and appreciate that the best place to play, just got better?

I hope that list will stop on Forknite and Rocket League. Do not want people split on CP and PS only on other games. Do not want GTAO or rdr2o CP with modders from other systems.

Fps with crossplay seems like a nightmare, precision aiming with a mouse will always beat console.

I'd love to see it in MHW and Tekken though

Maybe I'm looking at it the wrong way, but why would recent cod rdr2 fifa benefit? They have huge player bases already, you can still play black ops 1 on the ps3. Now if you said titanfall 2 I'd kinda understand

I have friends who are on xbox and id love to team up and have mic support etc. Does cross play allow that?

I do, however, appreciate a clever idea so it would be nice to see one of the cods or gta onlines of the future have some form of Sony vs Microsoft mayhem. i only hope there also is an option to let you only play with ps4 players if you dont want to play with the others. since pc users can easily change from controller to m/kb before the game start. and nintendo online is the worst so you can expect plenty of lag if you play against those guys. also there will be all kind of problems when you hook up all four to connect to each others. so thats why i prefer to play with ps4 players only.

I would give whatever it took for crossplay in Monster Hunter just so I could play with my brother. That’s what the crossplay argument comes down to for me.

I can't wait for destiny 2 to become cross play i really can't, it's bound to happen since it's moving to steam this month. I expect it next year and I expect a PS5 version to come as well because after moving my saves to pc from PS4 and experience it in 60fps I can't go back to PS4 version

Ark would be nice with the upcoming expansion the timing would be perfect if they would do it as part of the release. Would be a great additional selling point.

As a switch and PS4 owner with split custody of my kids, I cant think cross-platform gaming is a life saver. I play Fortnite, Paladins, Rocket leauge, and Real Royal regularly. Most importantly I play them with my girls when they are not around. We don't have to see each other to go on an adventure together. Thought this list is old news and nothing new has come out since like September of last year. Except Dauntless which we also play. It kills me to hear people say this is useless. It is a unified gaming community where we can remain in contact with friends thousands of miles away, or meet new friends across the globe. I would lover to see the MMORPG jump to switch in a cross platform environment but I do believe it is a little under powered. But these F2P games are paving the way and should be commended for the accomplishment not ridiculed.

Well this article is heavily biased in Microsoft's false advertising PR statement regarding crossplay. Sony has supported crossplay since the PS2, and was actively supporting it with PS4 whenever they came wrongly under fire by the Xbox camp. You can't say they weren't doing it just because it wasn't working with Fortnite, as it was actively working with a plethora of games already. Goalposts moved, Microsoft tricked the majority of you, simple facts.

Destiny 2 would be amazing cross play. That way I could play against my kids on their Xbox, and I'm on the PC or PS4!!

Mortal Kombat 11 on PS4 has (somewhat limited) crossplay with Xbox One.

And Street Fighter V has PC crossplay, although not a console, I suppose.

"Once the game launches on Nintendo Switch". Pretty sure I've spotted this on the eShop for a couple of months at least.

Would be nice if Terraria was part of it for pc and consoles. I can't play with console friends with Terraria because l have pc only.

@charbtronic Destiny 2 is cross-play for PS5 and PS4 players, but you can't play with users on Xbox One or PC.

I think Genshin Impact and SW: Squadrons have cross play with PS4.

NFS: Hot Pursuit Remastered is also cross play with the Nintendo Switch version.

Genshin Impact does have cross-play, meaning you can play with people from other devices from PS4 and vice versa. It's cross-platform progression, or cross-save, that it doesn't have between PS4 and others.

Paladins does not support cross progression on Playstation.

It's so much sweeter when you thrash an xboner on your ps5

Fall Guys now has crossplay with PC, if you folks want to add that to the list.

All console games that have crossplay with PC should have their online paywall removed.

PS+, Xbox Live and Switch Online subscriptions supposedly pay for server costs, but PC players don't have to pay AND get access to all console players!? How exactly is that fair for console users?

The only fair solution is if the paywall for consoles is removed or PC players have to pay for crossplay, and we know the latter is absolutely never going to happen.

IMO, every multi platform multiplayer game should be cross play. There’s no reason for it not to be.

There's quite a few games missing from this list:

• Final Fantasy XIV (also supports cross save)
• Pox Nora (also supports cross save)
• Warframe (no cross save)
• Faerie (no cross save)
• Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles remastered (also supports cross save)
• Boundless (no cross save)

And that's just off the top of my head...

What? Quake isn’t on the list?!

Guilty Gear Strive is listed as no Cross-progression, but it does let you transfer your save between PS4 and PS5. This works each way too.

Would just like to point out (though I'm sure someone has already) that Paladins, Smite & Realm Royale does not have cross-progression with PlayStation, only cross-play.

The other systems (PC, Xbox & Switch) have full cross-progression though.

EDIT: Looks like Realm Royale isn't even on the list as cross-play game but it is.

Hmmm… I don’t think I’ve once played Rocket league cross play against anybody other than PC players on PlayStation.
I’ve also never once seen playstation icons when playing grid cross play, or cod vanguard, when playing on Xbox…just Pc players during cross play.

In fact I can’t think of a single game I’ve played where I’ve been up against anybody on another console during cross play.

Tera is crossplay with Xbox One and Series S/X. Also, Paladins does not have cross progression on unlocks/cosmetics - only on the Battlepass.
