@PixelDragon I’m playing Jedi Survivor too, and also really enjoying it.

How are you finding the difficulty? I mentioned this somewhere on here about it being a little unbalanced at times and I’ve had to drop the difficulty settings to get past a boss or a force tear every now and then. I saw you mentioned you’re well acquainted with the FromSoft games so I’m curious how you view this in comparison.

And are you having any performance issues or technical problems with the game?

I'm playing it on normal and it's been okay for the most part, but there are sudden difficulty spikes which, unlike From Software titles, do seem unbalanced. That being said it hasn't detracted from my enjoyment of the game, certainly as I found the first entry very hit and miss.

I did chuckle early on in the game when Cal noted how he'd forgotten how much Battle Droids talk. "Says you, Mr won't shut up for 5 minutes!" Cal does witter on!

As for performance I've only noticed a bit of frame stuttering, but going on the condition the game was launched in prior to patching it seems pretty stable. (I only bought the game last week).

@PixelDragon Haha, yes that is ironic about the chatter. 😄 It feels like Cal is more social and quippy this go-around. I find him still fairly likable and so I’m rolling with it for now but undecided as of yet about the story as a whole. I do feel that the gameplay is better in the sequel and overall more fun to play moment-to-moment. The improved (although still mediocre) in-game BD holomap has helped make exploration more inviting too.

On the subject, do you have a favorite From game? It’s a topic of much debate around here. I’ve played Demon’s Souls, Dark Souls Remastered, and Bloodborne and I’d say all are excellent but BB wins out so far. I’ve got DS2 queued up for later this year (depending on how things go with other games). I’m cautiously optimistic about it, but feel like I want to clear the Dark Souls games before doing Elden Ring.

Cal's personality is certainly more rounded this time. Story wise I'm quite enjoying it. Combat is vastly improved and I think it looks lovely on PS5, even in performance mode. With so much thrown together, half hearted mediocrity coming out of Disney's Star Wars at this time it's nice to that the games are still keeping the magic alive, for myself at least.

As for From Software, that'll be Demon's Souls. It was the first I played and I've finished it twice on PS3. Currently playing the remake, although I've taken a break from it to concentrate on other games.

I did also pick up Elden Ring for my Series S prior to buying a PS5 and it's a great game, probably my second favourite From title. In terms of exploration and discovery it reminded me of old school RPGs, (of which I'm a fan), where you're thrown in and left to your own devices. No hand holding, no map crammed with "points of interest", just good old fashioned roleplay. "Here's a weapon, now off you go and try not to get yourself killed!".

Completed Dark Souls, (took me an age!), haven't begun DS2 and still haven't picked up DS3. I've to finish Bloodborne at some point, but I got distracted with other things and haven't been back to it.
